HEIRLOOM
Generation of gardeners have delighted in the flavorful fruit and unique color of heirloom tomatoes! This heirloom variety originated in Tennessee where it was given to a heirloom tomato collector Craig LeHoullier by John D. Green a Tennessee native. Mr. Green claimed the variety originally given to his neighbors by the Cherokee Indians over a hundred years ago. It is extremely productive with a complex flavor. The fruits can grow as large as 12 to 16 ounces with dark pink skin and darker purple shoulders. Often called a'black'tomato, the color carries through to the flesh, especially at the stem end. The very rich flavor of this tomato is distinct, one bite and you will know why this tomato has been a favorite of gardeners for over a century. For best results water well in warm weather and feed with a liquid or slow release fertilizer.
